Abstrak
We found high ant species diversity in oil palm plantation which maintain a conservation forest in our 1st year of research, we found several ant species visited dragon fruit, build a nest (Polyrhachis sp.) and even feed on stem and fruit of dragon fruit (Selenopsis geminata). We also found ants were visited about 90 % of sampled houses and tend to be household pest in Padang and Payakumbuh cities. A total of 33 ant species was visited four houses and one hospital study sites in West Sumatera. Six species of them were dominant in number of individual and frequencies (Selenopsis geminata, Paratrechina longicornis, Tapinoma melanochepalum, Pheidole sp. 2, Monomorium floricola and M. pharaohnis). We collect more ants in antrhopogenical area during the 2 year of the study and more amount at the 3rd year for accumulation of them. Several species of bacteria were detected from household ant from several locations as well as from ant in educational forest.
